First, we’ll talk with you to explore some of the many creative options available to document a person’s life. Once an approach is chosen, we’ll provide you with a questionnaire that will help us suggest questions and themes that will become the focus of the project. We’ll discuss which stories are most important to you to preserve and who, in addition, you might want us to interview.
Next, we’ll discuss the logistics of the production: how many hours (or days) of filming, where the shoots should take place (your home, in a studio, or a location of your choice), and which photos, home videos/movies or other memorabilia you’re considering including. If you’re interested in additional visuals to provide historical context to your film, we can provide them, too.
Telling your story should be a fun and rewarding experience, and Life Out Loud™ is committed to making the process as easy as possible every step of the way.
Finally, after all the interviews have been filmed, we’ll review with you a basic outline of how we see your story playing out, and suggest an estimated time frame for completion of the project. It’s up to you whether you’d like to screen a rough cut of the final production, or prefer watching the final cut together with family or friends for the first time.
